Woman Dies, Six Injured in Mumbai Apartment Fire
A fire at an Andheri complex left a woman dead and six, including two young children, hospitalised on Saturday

A 34-year-old woman died and six others, including two children, suffered from suffocation after a fire broke out in a residential building in Andheri, Mumbai, in the early hours of Saturday.
The fire started at approximately 2.40 am in a flat located on the first floor of the eight-storey Broke Land building, situated in the Lokhandwala Complex area.
A civic official confirmed that one of the residents, Abhina Sanjanwala, succumbed to suffocation and was declared dead upon arrival at Kokilaben Hospital.
The official stated that among those affected were a 10-day-old infant and a three-year-old child, who were rushed to hospital for treatment. The infant remains in the intensive care unit, receiving medical attention.
Two male victims were also taken to Cooper and Trauma Care hospitals, the official added.
The blaze, according to the official, was limited to household items such as electrical wiring, furniture, and documents.
Four fire brigade vehicles were deployed to control and extinguish the fire, he said, noting that further information is awaited.
