'Donate Organs, Save Lives' Initiative by BCCI

On Wednesday, the Indian and English cricket teams donned green armbands for the third and final ODI match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This symbolic gesture was in support of the BCCI's "Donate Organs, Save Lives" campaign.
Following the commencement of the match, the BCCI issued a statement highlighting the significance of the green armbands: "Both teams have entered the field wearing green armbands to support the BCCI's initiative 'Donate Organs, Save Lives.' This initiative is spearheaded by ICC President Jay Shah."
Additionally, a signature campaign promoting organ donation was led by the captains of both teams, garnering enthusiastic participation from players and spectators alike.
As of 3:15 PM, the scoreboard indicated that 12,000 individuals had pledged to donate their organs. Throughout the match, both the score on the field and the number of organ donation pledges continued to rise, underscoring the success and impact of this noble campaign.
This initiative by the BCCI has significantly raised awareness about organ donation, demonstrating the power of sports in uniting people for a worthy cause.
