Oil Tanker Blast In Noshki Leaves Dozens Injured
Welding Work Triggers Devastating Explosion At Truck Depot As Authorities Rush Victims To Hospital

Oil Tanker Explosion in Balochistan Injures at Least 40
At least 40 people were injured when an oil tanker exploded after catching fire at a truck depot in Balochistan's Noshki district on Monday, local officials confirmed.
According to Noshki Deputy Commissioner Amjad Soomro, the incident occurred whilst welding work was being carried out on the vehicle. "The fire brigade was attempting to control the blaze when the truck exploded," Mr Soomro told local reporters, adding that several fire brigade personnel sustained serious injuries in the blast.
Four police officers, who were at the scene moving citizens away from danger, were among those hurt. People in close proximity to the tanker when it exploded suffered 70 to 80 per cent burns, officials said.
"Those with severe burns will be transported to Quetta via helicopter," DC Soomro stated.
Balochistan Government Spokesperson Shahid Rind noted that more than 30 people had suffered burns in the catastrophe. "The fire was so intense it engulfed the fire brigade vehicle present at the scene," he said.
"The injured are being transferred to the Civil Hospital and Bolan Medical College after receiving first aid," Mr Rind added, confirming that an emergency had been declared in local hospitals.
"The incident is unfortunate... investigations are currently underway," the spokesperson said.
Oil tanker explosions frequently result from various factors beyond collisions, including defective fuel tanks, overloaded containers, and faulty muffler systems that can trigger fires. Given the highly flammable nature of the materials these vehicles transport, such accidents remain a significant hazard despite safety precautions.
