Easter Ceasefire Broken by Russia, Says Zelenskyy
Zelenskyy reports 387 shellings, 19 assaults, and drone strikes by Russia despite a declared Easter ceasefire

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russian forces of violating a 30-hour ceasefire declared by President Vladimir Putin in observance of Easter. Despite the announced truce, Zelenskyy reported a total of 387 shelling incidents and 19 assaults conducted by Russian forces.
In a statement posted on X on Sunday morning (local time), President Zelenskyy said Ukrainian frontline units recorded 59 instances of shelling and five assaults by Russian units, as well as multiple combat engagements across several regions.
"A report by Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi on the frontline as of 6 am Across various frontline directions, there have already been 59 cases of Russian shelling and 5 assaults by Russian units," Zelenskyy wrote.
Detailing specific engagements, Zelenskyy stated that one combat encounter was documented in the sector of the Starobilsk Operational Tactical Group. In the Donetsk Operational Tactical Group sector, three combat engagements occurred, including in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions. Additionally, a combat engagement took place near Stepove in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
According to the Ukrainian President, Russian forces also deployed dozens of first-person-view (FPV) drone strikes. "In the Kursk region, Russian forces conducted artillery strikes and used drones. Everywhere, our warriors are responding as the enemy deserves, based on the specific combat situation. Ukraine will continue to act symmetrically," Zelenskyy stated.
Between 6 pm yesterday and midnight today, Zelenskyy said there were 387 instances of shelling and 19 assaults by Russian forces. He added that Russian troops used drones 290 times during this period.
