Explosions Rock Srinagar, Baramulla, and Uri in Early Morning Hours
Local residents express panic as explosions disrupt early morning calm

On the morning of May 10, 2025, residents across Jammu and Kashmir woke to a series of powerful explosions near military installations, signaling a significant escalation in the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict.
In Srinagar, at least five large explosions were reported in the early hours, with residents from various parts of the city confirming the blasts. Baramulla experienced two to three loud explosions around 5 a.m., following a series of blasts late Friday night. Uri town, which has previously witnessed shelling and displacement, also reported fresh explosions. The majority of residents from Uri have reportedly migrated to safer locations.
Additionally, fresh shelling was reported from the Gurez and Kupwara areas in north Kashmir. A resident of Rajbagh, Yasmeen Akthar, mentioned, "There is panic around the city. We heard at least four to five explosions early in the morning."
The Indian Army has confirmed the interception of multiple Pakistani drones across various regions, including Baramulla, Srinagar, Awantipora, Nagrota, and Jammu. These drones are believed to be part of a coordinated wave of drone attacks targeting military infrastructure along both the International Border and the Line of Control with Pakistan. The increased drone activity has prompted heightened security measures and airspace restrictions in the affected areas.
Officials have remained tight-lipped about the incidents, and no casualties have been reported so far. The situation is being closely monitored as authorities assess the developments.
