State's more than 50 Talukas receive 1 to 8 inches rain
In just 20 mm rains water logging reported from Ahmedabad city

Universal rains have started in the state since Saturday morning. Between 6 am and 10 am on Saturday, 111 talukas received rainfall ranging from 1 mm to 205 mm. In which the highest rainfall of 8 inches has been recorded in Bijapur of Mehsana.
Five inches of rain has been recorded in Kapdwanj of Kheda and four and a half inches in Mansa of Gandhinagar. While Ahmedabad city received an average quarter of an inch of rain, people's lives have been affected. Heavy rains in the city have flooded many houses and shops with knee-deep water.

Flooding in low-lying areas of Ahmedabad:

Areas including Maninagar, Vatwa, Kathwara, Nikol, Airport, Odhav, Gomtipur, Bapunagar, Saraspur, Gota, Ghatlodia, Thaltej, Jagatpur were flooded. 3 gates of Vasna Barrage opened one foot each:
Many areas were flooded due to rainy weather in Ahmedabad city. As water inflows into the Sabarmati river, the 3 gates of the Vasna barrage have been opened up to one foot each. While Mithakhali and Parimal underpasses were closed for vehicular traffic due to waterlogging.
Red Alert in Surat and Amreli:
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in the state. A red alert has been declared for the possibility of heavy rain in Surat and Amreli districts by predicting universal rain for the next five days. While light to moderate rain is likely over Saurashtra, South Gujarat and Central Gujarat. In some districts of Saurashtra, winds can blow at a speed of 40 kmph.
