Fresh Death Threat to Salman Khan; FIR Lodged
Security tightened around actor as Mumbai cops probe case

Mumbai police have registered a case after Bollywood actor Salman Khan received a fresh death threat via WhatsApp messages sent to the Mumbai Traffic police helpline on Sunday evening.
The messages, from an unknown number, warned of a plan to either storm Salman’s Bandra residence or target his SUV with a bomb.
An officer posted at the traffic control room alerted seniors, and the Worli police promptly lodged a case under Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (criminal intimidation). Investigations are now underway by both the Worli Police and the Mumbai Crime Branch.
This threat marks a grim anniversary—exactly one year after two men on a bike opened fire at Salman’s Galaxy Apartments home on April 14, 2024. Though no one was hurt, it led to tighter security and the installation of a bulletproof glass shield on his balcony.
The attack was later claimed by Anmol Bishnoi, brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who holds a personal vendetta against the actor due to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
Over the last two years, Salman and his family, including his father Salim Khan, have received multiple threats. Police had earlier thwarted a plot to assassinate the actor at his Panvel farmhouse, allegedly planned by Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. The Bishnoi community regards blackbucks as sacred, and Lawrence has repeatedly demanded that Salman apologize publicly in Rajasthan or “face the consequences.”
Despite the dangers, Salman greeted fans on Eid from behind a bulletproof screen last month and remains under heightened security as investigations continue.
