Censor Boards can release ‘Emergency’ only after 11 modifications in the film
‘Emergency’ future hanging, was to be released on June 14th

Mumbai: The Censor Board of India informed the Bombay High Court that actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s movie ‘Emergency’ can be released only after some modification. It has asked director, producers for the modifications of 11 scene from the movie.
Bombay High Court is hearing petition filed by movie’s co-producer Zee Studio, which has pleaded to the court for its intervention and direction to the censor board for the approval of the movie release.
Censor Board’s advocate Abhinav Chandrachud’s submitted before the division bench of Justice BP Colabawalla and Justice Firdosh Pooniwala that the board suggested some cuts in the film. The court kept the matter for further hearing September 30.
Zee studio’s advocate in his submission stated that the board has asked for 11 modifications including cuts and insertions.
The movie is based on historical development of Indian Politics in 1970’s, when then Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi had imposed ‘Emergency’ for 21 months between 1975 and 1977.
Interestingly Sikh Community has opposed this release of movie demanding complete ban, as they felt that there are factual errors in film and it has not potrayed the community respectfully.
