It's official, folks! Thudarum—Mohanlal's much-anticipated 360th film—will release globally on April 25, instead of May 15. The actor confirmed the news in a post on X (formerly Twitter), saying: "You’ve heard the whispers. You’ve felt our arrival. It’s time to drive it home. Thudarum arrives on April 25th."

The emotional drama directed by Operation Java fame Tharun Moorthy, Thudarum was first scheduled to be released in theatres on January 30, but was later postponed to May 15, before being brought forward.

The new release date comes as Mohanlal rides high on the record-breaking success of L2: Empuraan, which has raked in ₹247.50 crore worldwide in just 10 days.

Thudarum marks the nostalgic return of Malayalam cinema's iconic on-screen duo Mohanlal and Shobana after 15 years, with Mohanlal starring as Shanmugham, a humble taxi driver devoted to his black Ambassador car Shobana plays his wife Lalitha, rekindling the chemistry that made classics like Manichitrathazhu and Thenmavin Kombath beloved by audiences.

Speaking about the film, director Tharun Moorthy said, “Thudarum is a tribute to human endurance and silent love. Mohanlal’s portrayal of Shanmugham will reveal a side of him that audiences haven’t seen in recent times.”

The supporting cast includes Farhan Faasil, Irshad, Abin Bino, Thomas Mathew, and Maniyan Pilla Raju. With cinematography by Shaji Kumar and editing by Shafeeque VB and Nishadh Yusuf, the film promises a rich visual experience.

Adding to the buzz is the music by Jakes Bejoy. The track “Kanmani Poove” has already turned into a chartbuster, while the recently released “Kadha Thudarum” has struck an emotional chord with listeners.

The 117-second trailer, released on March 26, offered glimpses of a gripping narrative set against Kerala’s lush landscapes, hinting at themes of love, loss, and mystery.

With its April 25 release now confirmed, Thudarum looks set to offer an emotionally resonant and visually compelling experience, while celebrating two of Malayalam cinema’s most beloved stars.
