Pakistan Reinforces LoC Fearing Larger Indian Strike
10-day closure in PoK madrassas as troops shift from KP to LoC, terror pads active again

Pakistan Army Mobilisation Along LoC Raises Alarms in India Amid Renewed Cross-Border Escalations
The already fragile ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) continues to unravel as the Pakistan Army escalates hostilities for the eighth consecutive night, targeting Indian forward positions with sustained small arms and machine-gun fire. The intensification comes amidst reports of Pakistani military reinforcements being deployed not only along the LoC in Jammu & Kashmir but also towards the Kutch sector in Gujarat, raising concerns over a broader strategic manoeuvre.
In the aftermath of the brutal April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, India is reportedly weighing a calibrated military response. The Cabinet Committee on Security, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reviewed the regional situation and subsequently closed Indian airspace to Pakistani aircraft—a clear signal of rising tension.
Intelligence inputs suggest the Pakistan Army has redeployed elements from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa towards LoC sectors, particularly targeting Kupwara, Uri, and Akhnoor. Two known terror launch pads—Leepa and Jura—facing Kupwara have seen increased activity. Islamabad has also positioned Chinese-supplied SH-15 howitzers in forward areas, signalling not only intent but preparation for sustained escalation.
Indian forces remain firmly entrenched with a robust posture across the LoC, responding to Pakistani provocations with calculated precision. Defence sources in New Delhi have underlined that India's response will not be dictated by Islamabad's theatrics but will be strategic and proportionate.
In an unusual move that hints at deeper concerns within Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), the local education department has declared a 10-day closure of all madrassas, citing border tensions. Emergency drills involving schoolchildren in Muzaffarabad further indicate Islamabad’s anticipation of military fallout.
Meanwhile, civilian populations along the Pakistani side of the LoC are reportedly constructing underground bunkers amid a growing sense of anxiety. While Pakistan’s military activities appear orchestrated for both internal messaging and deterrence, India remains clear-eyed about the threat and prepared for any eventuality.
Amid these developments, Indian defence planners are also closely monitoring Pakistani troop activity further south, near the Rann of Kutch. Any attempt to stretch the theatre of tension would not go unanswered, according to senior defence officials.
India views Pakistan’s moves as a mix of coercive posturing and diversionary tactics, but remains steadfast in securing its territorial integrity.
