Pak Intruder Shot by BSF at Gujarat Border Fence
BSF neutralises infiltrator in Banaskantha amid ongoing Operation Sindoor and high alert

Gujarat: Pakistani Intruder Shot Dead by BSF While Attempting to Cross Border
In a late-night operation on the intervening night of 23 and 24 May, the Border Security Force (BSF) neutralised a Pakistani intruder attempting to illegally cross into Indian territory in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district.
According to an official statement issued by the BSF, personnel on duty observed a suspicious individual approaching the border fence after breaching the international boundary. The troops issued a challenge, instructing the intruder to halt. However, the individual continued advancing in defiance of repeated warnings, prompting the BSF to open fire. The intruder was neutralised on the spot.
The incident occurred against the backdrop of heightened tensions along the India-Pakistan border, following the 22 April terrorist attack in Pahalgam and the subsequent launch of Operation Sindoor. The operation, targeting terror-linked locations across the border, has led to increased vigilance by Indian forces.
Security forces have maintained a heightened state of alert, particularly in light of persistent ceasefire violations by Pakistan along both the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border, reportedly ongoing for over two weeks.
In Rajasthan, the BSF continues to maintain a robust deployment along the International Border as part of the continuing Operation Sindoor. Briefing the media, Deputy Inspector General Yogendra Singh Rathore from the Jaisalmer sector reaffirmed the force’s steadfast resolve to ensure national security and uphold the integrity of the border.
