In a shocking case of premeditated murder, Meerut police have arrested a woman named Muskaan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla for the gruesome killing of ex-Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput. According to police officials, Saurabh was drugged, murdered, and dismembered into 15 pieces, and his remains were sealed in a cement-filled drum by the duo.
The Murder Plot
Police investigations have revealed that Muskaan and Sahil had been planning the murder since November 2024. The crime was executed on March 4, 2025 when Muskaan allegedly mixed sleeping pills in Saurabh&rsquo;s food. Once he was unconscious, the duo stabbed him to death before chopping his body into 15 pieces.
After the murder, they sealed his body parts in a plastic drum filled with cement, intending to dispose of it later. To cover up their crime, the couple headed to Shimla and Kasol with Saurabh&rsquo;s phone and posted pictures on his social media handles. Their attempt to mislead authorities and Saurabh&rsquo;s family members did not work for long, as a missing persons complaint was filed.
Confession and Arrest
After returning from their trip, Muskaan and Sahil intended to mislead authorities by claiming Saurabh had left the country. However, Saurabh&rsquo;s family became suspicious when they couldn&rsquo;t reach him, and they filed a missing persons report.
Muskaan and Sahil were grilled about Saurabh&rsquo;s whereabouts and they admitted to murdering him under interrogation, leading to their arrest.
The police drilled open the cement-filled drum to recover the body parts, which were then sent for forensic analysis. The accused have been booked under charges of murder, criminal conspiracy, and evidence tampering.
Infidelity and Drugs

When Saurabh returned to India on February 24 for his daughter&rsquo;s birthday, the couple allegedly attempted to kill him on February 25, but failed.
Muskaan&rsquo;s Parents Demand Justice
In a shocking twist, Muskaan&rsquo;s own parents have disowned her, calling for the harshest punishment. Speaking to a national bureau, Pramod Kumar Rastogi and Kavita Rastogi stated that they want their daughter to be hanged for the brutal murder.
&ldquo;We got her arrested. She confessed to us, &lsquo;Mummy, we killed Saurabh.&rsquo; She should be punished for what she has done,&rdquo; Muskaan&rsquo;s mother said. The couple also revealed that Saurabh was &ldquo;blindly in love&rdquo; with Muskaan and had sacrificed everything for her, only to be met with betrayal.
