Gujarat Youth Sent Death Threat to Salman Khan: Police
Man undergoing mental treatment in Gujarat traced by Mumbai Police for sending a death threat to Salman Khan

The individual accused of sending a death threat to Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been identified as a resident of a village in Gujarat’s Vadodara district, Mumbai Police announced on Tuesday. The 25-year-old man, Mayank Pandya, is currently undergoing treatment for mental health issues.
Pandya lives in a village situated in Waghodia taluka, Vadodara. He has been issued a notice to appear before Mumbai Police for further questioning regarding the threat. Authorities have also directed him to provide documentation related to his psychiatric condition.
The threat was issued on Sunday through a WhatsApp message sent to the official number of the Worli Transport Department. This incident occurred exactly one year after two assailants on a motorbike fired four bullets outside Khan’s Bandra home.
The message warned of a possible attack either by entering the actor’s residence or targeting his vehicle with explosives. In response, the Worli police registered a case, and security was immediately reinforced at Khan’s residence in Galaxy Apartments.
Within a day of the FIR being filed, investigators identified the sender as Pandya and detained him at his home in Vadodara. “Using technical intelligence, we tracked Pandya to his home. As he is undergoing treatment for mental illness, we have served him a notice and asked him to join the investigation,” a police official stated.
Vadodara SP Rohan Anand confirmed, “Pandya has been summoned and asked to submit documents supporting his mental health diagnosis.”
This threat is the latest in a series of similar incidents involving the actor, who has faced increased security measures since his 1998 conviction in the Blackbuck poaching case.
Following the April 14, 2023, shooting outside his Bandra residence, Khan discontinued his practice of greeting fans from his balcony and installed bulletproof glass in his apartment.
In 2024, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for that shooting, with a Facebook post allegedly authored by Bishnoi taking credit for the act.
