Love, Lies & a Fatal End: Surat Man's Suicide Sparks Abetment Case Against 12
A tragic case of alleged emotional and physical torment has led Utran Police to register an abetment to suicide case against 12 individuals, including a woman named Shital Rathva and her boyfriend Mohsin "Tiger" Memon, after 30-year-old Jaydip Satodiya was found dead from poisoning on April 4.
Jaydip, a Rajkot native and resident of Mota Varachha, ran an online kurta business from home. He had married Shital in a love marriage on October 30, 2023, but the relationship quickly turned toxic. According to police, Shital often assaulted and threatened him, even vowing to file false atrocity and dowry cases. They divorced in February 2024.
Just two days before his death, Shital allegedly lured Jaydip to Adajan, where he was beaten by her, Mohsin, and 10 others. On April 4, while his father was out of town, Jaydip consumed poison in an open plot near Lal Tambu. Initially treated as an accidental death, the case took a turn after his funeral, when his family discovered a suicide note and three emotional videos hidden in his moped.
In his final message, Jaydip blamed Shital and her associates—naming 11 people including Pranali, Tina, Ruchit, and others—for mental torture, beatings, and false threats. “I’ve lost. They destroyed me,” he wrote.
Based on this evidence, Jaydip’s father filed a formal complaint. Acting swiftly, Utran PI D.U. Bard tracked and arrested Shital and Mohsin from a Navsari hotel. The remaining accused are still on the run. Investigations continue as police dig deeper into what appears to be a harrowing case of systematic harassment ending in tragedy.
