Central agency officials cracked down on poaching in Haryana's Pinjore with WCCB officals

In a special operation, Central Bureau of Investigation’s Wildlife Crime Unit, along with WCCB officials, intercepted a vehicle in Pinjore, Haryana, seizing two leopard skins, leopard canines, claws, jaw pieces, otter skins, and pangolin scales. Three poachers were arrested on the spot, while a fourth was apprehended at Kalka railway station.
The accused have been identified as Peerdas, Wazira, Ram Dayal and Rohtas. One of the accused was previously chargesheeted in Nepal for wildlife crimes. A case has been registered under BNS 2023 & Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, which imposes strict penalties for crimes against endangered species. All accused will be produced in court.
The investigation continues to trace the source, network, and money trail of the illegal trade.
