Andhra Pradesh's three women serial killers reminds Kerala's Jolly Joseph case

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh's Guntur police have cracked a murder case that turned out to be one of the four murders, committed by a group of three women. Their modus operandi reminded Kerala's Jolly Joshep cyanide killing case, in which she had murdered her six family members over 14 years giving them cyanide.

 

Guntur Police were investigating an accidental death case, in which they had found a decomposed body of a woman this June, that was found near a quarry of Vadlamudi village in Chebrolu Mandal. With the help of the deceased's son it was identified that the body was missing Nagur B. 

 

Guntur Superintendent of police Satish Kumar on Thursday informed the media that Nagur B's murder case is cracked, three women accused are arrested in this connection. Officer further said, accused women admitted before the police they have together murdered four persons that includes three women. 

 

Sharing details of modus operandi, the officer said, "These women used to befriend the victim and with a motive to rob them they used to kill them and loot, gold ornaments and cash. In one case they had borrowed money from the victim, they killed the person because they did not intend to repay the borrowed amount. To kill victims they were inducing cyanide either in soft drinks or liquor. Nagur B was murdered by lacing her wine." 

 

Three accused are identified as Gontu Ramanamma and Mudiyala Venkateswari, mother and daughter respectively, and Murugappa Rajin by the police. Madiyala Venkateshwari, has criminal history, before entering into the criminal world, she was serving as volunteer and to make fast money she even went abroad illegally and was also involved in cybercrime.

 

Accused have admitted before the police that they attempted to murder two other persons, but they had a miracle escape. One of the accused's friends, who is an Air-conditioner repairer, was helping them to procure cyanide. He used to get cyanide from a jewellery manufacturer.  Police have seized cyanide and other evidence from the possession of the accused.
