3 Held in Rajkot Hospital Video Leak Case
Probe intensifies after leaked videos sold on Telegram, accessed by 5 lakh users

Rajkot police have arrested three people, including two from Maharashtra, in connection with leaked videos of female patients undergoing medical examinations at Payal Maternity Hospital. The accused, identified as Prajwal Ashok Teli from Latur, Braj Rajendra Patil from Sangli, and Chandraprakash Hinch from Prayagraj, allegedly hacked the hospital’s CCTV system via an IP-based attack and sold the footage on Telegram for a fee.
The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch and Crime Branch are leading the probe, which revealed that the suspects uploaded around 30 videos of patient examinations, charging ₹8,000 to ₹10,000 for downloads. More than five lakh people are believed to have accessed the content before Telegram and YouTube removed it.
The mastermind Prajwal Teli was in touch with hackers from Romania and Atlanta, authorities said. The cyber crime team along with Rajkot city police obtained the CCTV footage of the hospital for the last 3 months. The leaked videos were allegedly recorded over three days in December but uploaded at different times. Police have questioned Payal Hospital’s director, medical staff, and administration to determine how the CCTV system was compromised. Investigators are verifying whether the hospital’s DVR was connected to the internet, who had access credentials, and whether internal involvement was possible. Hospital administrator Pratiksha Desai stated that the CCTV system had a technical fault two months ago, after which the password was reset, raising suspicions that it was hacked at that time. Following the leak, the hospital removed the affected camera, and Desai assured full cooperation with the investigation.
The mastermind, Prajwal Teli, was in contact with hackers from Romania and Atlanta and had been running a Telegram and YouTube channel called CP Mondha for a year from Latur and Sangli. As the probe intensifies, police are tracking the Telegram account that facilitated the sale of the videos, and the arrested suspects are being brought to Ahmedabad for further interrogation.
