Gandhinagar Man Kills Wife, Son, Attempts Suicide
Debt-ridden Haresh Vaghela killed his wife, 5-year-old son in Sargasan before trying to end life

A man in the Sargasan area of Gandhinagar, Gujarat, allegedly killed his wife and five-year-old son before attempting suicide, police said on Thursday. The accused, identified as Hareshbhai Kanubhai Vaghela, is currently under medical supervision as authorities investigate the case.
According to police, Vaghela, who worked at a salon, was reportedly under financial distress due to losses in the stock market. Investigators found a suicide note at the crime scene, suggesting that financial troubles led him to commit the crime.
The bodies of his wife Ashaben Vaghela, a cook, and their son Dhruv Vaghela, a Junior KG student, have been sent for postmortem examination. Police said the child was killed by striking his head against a safe, while Ashaben's throat was slit.
The incident came to light when authorities received an alert and a team from Infocity Police Station, along with forensic experts, reached the spot. Vaghela had attempted suicide by slashing his wrist but survived and is expected to be questioned once his condition stabilizes.
The family, originally from Surendranagar, had been residing in Srirang Nanocity 1, Sargasan, for the past 1.5 years.
This incident follows a similar case in Junagadh, where police recently solved a 13-month-old murder mystery involving a woman named Daya Savaliya (35). The accused, who had been evading arrest due to lack of evidence, was finally apprehended.
Further investigations into the Sargasan double murder case are underway.
